What kind of cricket questions are included?

The cricket edition covers the full spectrum of international and domestic cricket geography:

  • Test grounds — Lord's, the MCG, Eden Gardens, the SCG, Headingley, Newlands Cape Town, The Oval, Galle International Stadium, Kingsmead Durban, Sabina Park, Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium and more.
  • One-day and T20 venues — Narendra Modi Stadium, Wankhede Stadium, Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, National Stadium Karachi and other major limited-overs venues.
  • IPL and franchise cricket — Home grounds of IPL franchises, Big Bash venues and other domestic stadium locations.
  • Famous moments — The location where a historic innings was played, a record was broken or a cup-winning catch was taken.
  • Birthplaces — The hometown or birthplace of legendary cricketers — batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders who shaped the game.

How to play

  1. Go to Sports Map Daily Cricket.
  2. Read the daily question — a clue about a cricket ground, venue or cricketing landmark.
  3. Tap on the 3D globe where you think the answer is.
  4. See how close you were, then move to the next question.
  5. Complete all five questions and see your total score out of 1,000.

No sign-in required. A new round goes live every day at 00:00 UTC.

Scoring

Each question scores up to 100 points, based on how close your pin is to the real location. The five questions are weighted 1×, 1.5×, 2×, 2.5× and 3×, so a perfect round scores exactly 1,000 points. Tapping inside the correct country always scores 100.

About the Cricket edition

Cricket is played across more than 100 countries and has iconic grounds on every continent except Antarctica. From the historic pitches of England and Australia to the subcontinental fortresses of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, from the Caribbean to South Africa — the cricket edition tests your knowledge of the sport's full geographic spread.

Whether you're a fan of Test cricket, ODIs, the IPL, the Big Bash or any of the domestic T20 competitions, you'll find questions that test your knowledge of where the sport has been played and where its greatest moments happened.

Tips for the cricket round

  • Major Test grounds are almost always in or near the largest city in their country — so if in doubt, pin the biggest city in the country mentioned.
  • Birthplace questions can be tricky — legendary players were often born in smaller towns rather than the major cricketing cities.
  • Remember that Pakistan's major grounds are in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi; South Africa's in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban and Port Elizabeth; Australia's in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
  • Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe all have fewer grounds — so narrowing down to the country gives you a strong start.
